Help write it

Sixty years of the club live in living rooms across the district: in photo albums, framed team pictures, matchday programmes and memories. This page is how they get into the story.

What we're after

Photographs above all: teams, matches, presentations and the ground through the years. Also programmes, newspaper cuttings, medals and trophies we can photograph, and stories: how the club started, the day at Seaview, the characters. Names for faces in photos we already have. Corrections, too: if a date or a score in these pages is wrong, we'd rather know than not.

How to send it

Use the form at the bottom of this page for anything you can type, or email history@kilmorerecfc.comfor anything with a picture attached — photos of photos taken on a phone are absolutely fine. Original prints can be scanned and returned; nothing you lend us leaves the club's care.

Along with the thing itself, tell us:

What it is, and roughly when. A guess is fine if you say it's a guess.
How you know: were you there, who told you, is it written on the back?
Your connection to the club, and your name.
Whether we can credit you publicly (we'd like to, but say no and we won't).

What happens to it

Everything is read by real people at the club, and nothing appears on this site automatically. We check each contribution against what we already know: when two people independently confirm a date, a face or a story, it goes into the history as established fact. A single account still gets published, but as what it is: one person's memory, credited to them ("Jim recalls…"). If contributions contradict each other, we say that too; an honest "accounts differ" is worth more than a tidy guess. The history gets updated roughly monthly, and new additions are flagged on the club's Facebook page.

The small print

Only send photographs you took, own, or have permission to share, and by sending them you're giving the club permission to publish them here with a credit. We won't name anyone living in a photograph without their (or, for children, their parent's) say-so. If that's you in the picture, that's your call to make.

Anything you send through the form is stored privately by the club and read only by the people running the history project. Your name and contact details are used to get back to you about what you sent, and for a credit if you've said yes to one; they aren't shared or used for anything else. Ask history@kilmorerecfc.com and we'll delete them.
